Dr. Brunsing provides geological and environmental engineering expertise in all aspects of hazardous waste site and facility assessments and remedial design. As a Principal of the firm, Dr. Brunsing has managed over 200 preliminary site assessments, over 200 remedial investigations, and over 100 site cleanups. He has provided oversight on over 200 UST remediation projects. Dr. Brunsing has provided remedial design engineering to five California State Superfund sites. He has provided oversight for closure and post closure land use on both private and public sectors/sites. Dr. Brunsing has directed groundwater investigations and mitigation efforts on nine solid waste landfill projects. Project experience includes development of treatment systems for industrial discharge and contaminated groundwater, preparation of bid documents and plans and specifications, and construction management.

Erik Olsborg

Erik Olsborg, P.G., C.E.G.

Mr. Olsborg is the senior vice president with BAI providing engineering geology expertise in all aspects of geotechnical and geologic engineering. He has managed hundreds of investigation for construction projects within hillside, ocean bluff/beach, river/creek bank, marine and non-marine terrace, and estuary environments. Mr. Olsborg has been mapping geologic features throughout the northern San Francisco Bay Area for the majority of his career and as such is one of the foremost authorities on the properties of major geologic formations found in Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake and Napa Counties.

Mr. Colorado is the Vice President as well as a licensed civil and geotechnical engineer. He has been with Brunsing Associates, Inc. since 2000 and has performed field observation and testing, field explorations, laboratory testing, and geotechnical engineering analyses for various projects in Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake and Los Angeles Counties. The projects have included small to large commercial/industrial facilities, roadways, bridges, hillside sites, residential and school developments. His experience also included extensive report writing and developing cost estimates.

Josh Kilgore

Josh Kilgore
Senior Engineering Geologist

Mr. Kilgore is a senior engineering geologist at Brunsing Associates. He is a licensed Professional and Engineering Geologist in the state of California. He has performed and developed plans for field observation and testing, field exploration, and laboratory testing. He has provided engineering geologic expertise and analyses for various projects in Marin, Sonoma, Lake, Humboldt and Mendocino Counties, California ranging from small to large commercial/industrial facilities including schools and hospitals, roadways, bridges, hillside sites, and residential developments His expertise includes hillside development in difficult terrain, landslide evaluation and fault evaluation and assessment.

David Stafford

David Stafford
Staff Geologist

David Stafford is a geologist specializing in geomorphology, sediment analysis, and geotechnical/environmental investigations. He has led projects in Sonoma and Mendocino Counties involving landslide and coastal bluff studies, groundwater and surface water monitoring, soil infiltration and percolation testing, and hazardous waste site cleanups. An FAA-certified remote pilot, he applies drone technology to terrain and geomorphic mapping. With strong project management skills, he has experience in scope development, cost proposals, construction management, permitting, and technical reporting.

Oren Judy

Oren Judy
Laboratory Manager/Field Technician

Oren has experience performing various laboratory tests. He is also experienced in drilling, sampling, fire damage foundation assessments, compaction testing, nuclear density gauge, concrete field and lab testing, including laboratory procedures.

Michael L. Shelton 
Field Technician

Mr. Shelton is an experienced Field and Laboratory Technician. He has worked as a field technician in the counties of Ventura, Los Angeles, Marin, Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma performing field explorations, grading observation and testing, and fire damaged foundation assessments. He has gained experience in geotechnical fieldwork, explorations, report preparation, and site investigations. He also performs various geotechnical laboratory tests.

Carolyn Schertzer

Ms. Schertzer is responsible for monthly invoicing clients including documentation of unit pricing, hours worked, and equipment used. She is also responsible for preparing monthly financial statements, human resources, payroll, accounts payable, and managing the administrative staff.

Mrs. Colorado provides customer service needs to our staff and clients. With her AA Degree in Accounting, she is able to handle accounts receivable and other accounting tasks, as needed. She possesses organization, communication, and multi-tasking skills to keep our office running smoothly. She tracks the status of our projects, document editing and data entry, as well as maintaining our electronic and paper filing systems. She is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and QuickBooks.
